Not really sure where I am or can go with this but I have had a set of BFG All Terrain's in a size 33x10.5x15 on order (Sears) since the early part of December. I have called BFG several times on this and the production date keeps moving....it's now 4/4.

I've had good results from these tires in the past and would like to continue running them but I'm down to baloney skins.

Wish I could find a dealer that had them in stock for some reason. Other than that I guess I need to start looking for another brand.

Frustrating.

I'm in the same area--have you tried Les Schwab--? Also..Craigslist--no warranty and not 'new' but off/on the past couple weeks have noticed 33" and 35" mud tires almost new a couple of times...

I'm looking online at Les Schwab now. When I first started looking they said that they could order them (BFG's) but they were quite a bit more expensive....guess it's not the house brand. I may need to go a diferent route on tires. I'll check CL.

Thanks.

have you considered other brands? i had bfg at/ko and switched to bridgestone dueler at revo2 and won't be going back. i don't wheel though, unplowed snowy roads and the ocacsional dirty road

Tire rack is pretty good at turn around time. I just order a spare on Monday and it showed up at my door step today ( 35x12.50 BFG AT/KO)

My friend got a set from Costco in Reno. Told me it took about two weeks.

This was around the first of the month.

FYI - I've purchased BFG's from "Uncle Les" in the past; I usually take a print out of several online dealers, include the per tire shipping cost, and ask Les Schwab to match. They usually do, and I then get free rotations, flat repair, etc.

They would have to order as well though, which might be the same bs you're having to deal with through Sears.

My tire supplier appears to have a couple of sets in their AZ warehouse. I'm on the other side of the state from you (I'm in Medford) so I don't know how much help I can be, but if you feel like a roadtrip I may be able to get something worked out.

Shoot me a PM if you strike out.

Have you tried America's Tire? They are a much better company than Schwab is currently. Not the same Schwab since he died. I picked up mine from Landcruiser NW in Portland. They didn't seem to have a problem getting them.

Costco seems to have the buying power to get tires when needed.

The MTAs are a pretty big jump in lack of on-road ability and wear a lot quicker?

Toyo MT's are available in 33X10.50.

Here in Southern California I ordered some from Costco, because they don't stock them, and they are taking about 4 days (hopefully).

Update: They arrived a day early.

X a billion, Schwab sucks now, s***ty service, high prices and a stupid marketing campaign about how great they used to be. America's is way better, I bought my 33x10.5 BFG ATs from them, got the lifetime warranty for 60 bucks (on 5 tires). I got mine the same day, had them stocked locally (about a year ago).

Landcruisers NW is the joint though, Tony and Matt are way cool and do excellent work.

I've bought my last set of BFG ATs (33 x 10.5). This was my third set on the same truck. The first two helf up for about 35k-mostly driven on really s***ty gravel roads. This set is bold after less than 20k miles. No idea whether they switched anything to make production cheaper, but this is not good. I am looking for other tires...

cheers,
J

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I will try Costco, Tire Rack, etc. I'm not a big fan of Schwab either. When I go there with my Jetta I always feel like I'm being upsold.

Thanks again....I'll let you know what I come up with.

Well, that was the easy button. Called Tire Rack....they have them in stock in NV....will ship to an installer in Portland with delivery by middle of next week. Price was $165 per tire. Installation is $15 per tire.

Maybe Sears doesn't buy as many tires and are down on the waiting list.

Thanks again everyone for the help. Sending a message on mud is like signaling for the calvary.

Update: Costco would NOT mount 31x10.5x15 on my stock rims. They actually mounted two of them, then called me to say they can't mount them due to policy. They dismounted those two, and remounted and balanced my cracked and bald tires. I bought the tires, and they refunded the mounting and disposal charge.

I've had this problem before with them. If not a size tire the car maker originally put on the vehicle they won't do it. They also won't mount on multi-part wheels. fwiw.

that tire size is apparently made in very small lots...I tried to buy a set some time ago and got tired of wiating on the backorder business...went with 12.5. my comments relate to the MT in the mentioned size, don't know for sure if same issue with the AT but appears to be.

I am thinking about getting the steel rock crawler pro comp wheels and wondering if they will even mount tires on them after the initial fitting - like they would do the initial install and then I come back x0000 miles later and they are like "we can't do that now."
