The motor is now at the machine shop getting honed or bored. Haven't received specs yet.
I pulled the interior tonight and am debating on how to clean the carpet or buy new . . I normally make all my bumpers and sliders but I'm pressed for time so I've bought a front and rear bumper and some TG sliders I will modify.
Little eye candy

Dude, your doing it right. Just yank it, freshin it up , put new rubber stuff & she will be good for 180K miles. You won't regret doing this. Good move...

While you have everything yanked out Dynamat (or sound deaden-er of your choice) everything you can get to! I did the same thing with my 96. Reskinned the front seats/center console/door arm rests, new carpet, new stereo head unit and speakers.

It's amazing all the years of funky smells that the carpets absorb. Ours now is super quiet (as compared to before the sound mat), and smells like a new car. Wife is happy - so now she's all about more adventures.

Good score, and will be watching.

 :steer:

Pressure washed the carpets today and got most of the grime out. Has a big spot on passenger floor board that's lighter color with a blue tint to it almost like they had spilled bleach and then tried to reduce it. I'm going to attempt to dye the whole carpet. . . New venture for me but hell this whole thing is.

If it doesn't work out - this is where I bought my carpet --

Did a bit of reading and received some insight from a few mud members and the common theme is that peel and seal isn't the best route because of the mess it can make when it gets hot. Seems the best sound proofing comes from good seals around doors and windows and sound proofing with ccf and mlv in the doors with a good carpet backing. Can't believe how overwhelming this sound deadening info gets.
