looking for gas, and yes a DD

I thought the 3F is a better engine for DD use .. also with 4.11 easy 33" tires win no mayor deal. Power windows, locks and better dash .. is IMOP more trendy.

'84 is a good year...

You can puta diesel in CA.
All you need to make sure of is.
Make sure the diesel engine is either the same year of your vehicle or newer.
Once you intall it and have it running, you need to take it to a refferee smog station (need to make an appointment, I think) and they will exempt it as diesel engines are exempt from smog laws where in Killafornia...

Good luck with your hunt.
I got an 85 FJ60 and yes its true what they say about it being expensive keeping them smoged, original and what not... but driving it down the highway its just awesome !!!

Reliable FI and smooth power delivery of an AT make the 62 best in my book. Unless you have crazy low gear ratio's a manual is just a PITA on a trail. I've wheeled both a row your own and a slushbox and hands down the easy left foot braking of the slushbox wins everytime for me.

And this irrational hate of the double square lights is completely lost on me, I like em a lot. They let the world know, "Thats right, I'm from the 80's"...
