Iam currently working on attaching alot of pics for my buildup thread and I can use ImageShack so the pics are bigger and a little better quality. But is that a bad thing, Will my pics end up red xs like I see on alot of the older threads??

If I come back like 3 years later or something will my pics still be in my thread either way???

Sorry if it's a stupid question, just curious

You have 1600 posts...you have UNLIMITED attachment space on 'MUD...free...and it's backed up nightly from the Dallas server to the NY backup location...

Unless the pics are from 'pre vBulletin' days (ie: 2003ish) or hosted elsewhere, they do not disappear once uploaded :)

EVERY forum member with 250+ posts has unlimited attachment space for the VERY CONCERN you bring up :)

Are Photobucket pics at risk, then? Just asking because I've done a few of those.

I've never used photobucket...I also know of threads where the photobucket photos show a 'photobucket placeholder' and not the actual pic.

Thanks, Woody! Before I heard about the paperclip dropdown arrow method of putting photos in your posts, I used photobucket to get more than 3 pics on a post. Also, my local club forum (Central Oregon Cruisers) only allowed posted photos downloaded from photobucket. So I was familiar with the routine. Recently we're able to 'direct download' photos now as long as we keep the size down. Actually that's a good idea on any forum (keeping size down). I think the place holder message happens when folks start re-arranging their photos on the photobucket site. It must mess with the links. Had a guy screw up most of his photos on our site by doing that. Sometimes ya gotta learn the hard way:rolleyes:.
