I'm sure there are plenty of post on this, but was wondering if anyone is running 35's or 315/75/r16 on a Old man 2.5 in lift. if so, did you have to re-gear it? besides the 285/75 what do most people think will be the best tire size for this setup? is anyone running 305/70 ? how do you like that tire setup? and can anyone upload pics with these tire setup

I'm planning a build soon with a 2.5" kit and 35s. It'll require some trimming and proper bump stop work, so if you're into all that then it should work.

I can't stand an underperforming truck so I'd call gears on a 35" tire a must, otherwise you're kinda turning your nice truck into a turd with big tires that gets terrible fuel economy and is has lost the gearing it needs to do the stuff in the dirt those 35" tires are supposed to be for. It also screws up your overdrive and makes your transmission constantly hunt for the right gear. Web warriors say,"oh yeah I've run X giant tire on stock gears and it hasn't given me any trouble" blah blah blah but that doesn't mean it's right.

If you don't want gears, I'd stop at a 33" tall tire. My $.02.

search is your friend'

18" wheels offer more options
295 70 18
305 65 18
285 70 18
275 70 18

I dont really like my 98 wiht the 4speed and 285 75 16s on the stock gears, I cant imagine running 35s without regearing

Here is 285/65/18 with said lift and my next set will most likely be a 305/65/18. I was considering any of the 34 options (34x12.5r18 or 325/65/18) simply because I want to stick with KO2s.

I have no rubbing in any situation

Daily driven 35's. It works through mountain passes but its slow. A regear would be ideal but is it worth the cashish? Around town feels like every other Land Cruiser I've ever owned for the last 30 years. Slow and steady.
