Best stock 60 Color

Just wondering what you think the best color that came stock on the 60's is.

I like the brown probably the best followed by the blue. The brown just has a more rugged feel and look to it.

I like the lighter metalic blue ('83) that my 60 carried orig. Don't care for the oxidized mess it's become, but...

Mine has become oxidized also. I was debating on whether to go to MAACO and just get it repainted the original brown or paint it camo in my garage.

Better not get Maaco. When I bought my truck, the PO had told me that he'd had it repainted. Dug through the reciepts he gave me and it was done at Maaco. The prep work was terrible (the front fenders were't prepped rigth - the paint is cracking in the shape of hand/palm prints where years of mechanics had put their hands on the fenders with greasy hands) in other areas it just started flaking off (in huge patches). When I got it, the paint was maybe 2 years old, and by the middle of the next summer, was almost totally oxidized.

I have buffed, wet sanded and worked on that paint over and over and over again. Recently gave up and it's now nicely decorated with trail pinstripes and other misc. flat patches, scratches and primer spots.

When I go to repaint, I'll probably wind up doing the Durabak thing - just need to pick a color.

I was thinking MAACO because of the price. I think it will cost something like $189.95 with a coupon. Myself, I am not too concerned about it really. If I do I do. Camo would look cool though.

I second that 4E9 is the way to go (tan)! My 87 60 was orig red, but I had it repainted in 4E9, and it is perfect!

Metallic champagne, for snappin heads around on an ultra clean streeter. Desert Sand for everyday use. Never "hang around brown", at least if you're looking for resale. White tops em all for resale. Freeborn for a V8.

Bright blue of the 1984 vintage is the best blue. Ever!!!

Definitely '86-'87 Blue. And as far as Maaco, you'll never end up spending only $189.95, since everything is extra. "Oh you want us to mask the car? That's another $100."
