Mine's faded 83 blue with some 83 rootbeer panels to re-repair impact damage by PO.
Now, since I live in a desert, I'm thinking of swapping to beige and throwing a 5-color desert camo on it.
Either that or gunmetal grey. I've always loved that color on metal.

alwright guys heres my 2cents, personaly i like the dessert beige or the light silver on a 60 but im a little biased towards the red considering my 60 is red and just happens to be in the shop getting a fresh coat of freeborn red as we speak! and like Mike S says theres nothing like freeborn red on a cruier 40 or 60 that screams vintage and classic! also ill post some pics as soon as i get her back from the shop..

Here's a question I've had for a while: what's the color code for Freeborn Red for an FJ62? Or what's the easiest way to get touch-up paint for it? I had no luck at the local dealer when I asked about it...

The cool cruisers site seems to have color codes for all the cruiser models, but they list Freeborn Red only as:
#FJ40, Freeborn Red, Code T-309
Yrs. '72-'79
# Ditzler Code 71999

Is the FJ62's Freeborn red the same as the early FJ40s? Did it change at all over the years? Can I take that code to a paint store and get some touch up paint?

I'll go with the red for a US stock color. I have the tan/beige. But when I repaint I am going with something along the lines of what BostonFJ60's color looks like. Except maybe a little darker. And the black hood looks awesome with the green.

I am thinking absolutely the best color combo that brings out the best in a 60 would be Japanese Disco light. That would be 2 tone Brown/Champagne with Orange on Gold striping
