Best source for Weld on Retainer Nuts?

Does anybody have a good source for a weld on nut or ideally the weld on floating retainer nuts?

I'm specifically looking for replacements for the nuts that hold the transmission cover onto the floorboard of an FJ40.

The early models have the floating retained nut. Works great when the holes do not line up exact.

The later ones are a weld on Nut or Weld On Tower Nut. I have bought them from the local fastenal before but now they have a MOQ of 100. MOQ - minimum order quantity.

I can find them online for cheaper but I do not need 1,000 of them. $200 per 1,000.


What are you using in this application?

Did McMasterCarr have anything you could use? I'm not aware of anyone selling the floating nuts as a "kit" of the nut and cage. I'd love to hear about them if such a kit exists.

I got mine from McMaster Carr. Very pleased. If I remember correctly I had to drill holes to spot weld them but that is the easy part. And I used them for the same thing, tranny hump.
