so, I put the "new"power steering pump on, fuel pump on and testing for leaks, getting the air out of the power steering and the oil cooler hose coming off the thermostat housing is spraying intermittantly  so, a couple other hoses looked bulged and was thinking it would be a good time to replace all the coolant/heater hoses that I haven't replaced yet.

some of them are just straight hose, others have the twists- is the only place to get the bent ones from toyota or will napa be able to get these?

was looking at spector and looks like its going to be pricey going oem, even with c-dan

maybe I should have just left them alone, oh well need some new vacuum lines anyways.

on the bright side it sounded good so far :D

I work at a NAPA and I wasn't able to get all the hoses. Can't remember which ones but the dealer was quicker on one or two. Most are available at NAPA.

p.s.
if you moved your ps pressure hose you may have disslodged some gunk that might clogg up your pump. Might be a good idea to replace it too.

i'm in the process of putting an oem oil cooler on my 40. i also need new hoses. as you said $$or has them, but it's going to cost you.
the lower line from the water pump to the cooler just cost me 40somebucks from sor.
for the rest i'm going to wander around the hose section of the local parts house to see if i can find stuff that is somewhat close to fitting right.

I'd call CDAN At American Toyota in New Mexico 1(800) 432-6668 Ext #8. He gives mud members a good discount and even a break on shipping if you get enough stuff. He really knows his TLCs and is an all aroung good guy.
The OEM stuff is a perfect fit and the best quality IMHO

CCOT has hose "kits" dunno if the pricing is reasonable. I'd compare CDAN's advice with CCOT, go toyota if it's only a few more bucks. I bought a ccot kit for my last 40, every thing fit every thing still working fine. The local dealer was pretty proud of hi$ ho$e$ and I did not know about CDAN at the time

DON'T FOR GET THE REAR HEATER HOSES LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE HEATER. the pipe fittings are easily crushed when tightening (causing those leaks I had for a while..duh.)

Go Toyota. My OEM hoses lasted 20 years without leaks. They were not that expensive to replace, and much less expensive than an overheated motor. I went with OEM at replacement, from Cruiserdan at American Toyota. One tip-there is a small short hose near the firewall on the driver side of the 60. It is straight generic hose, but it's 1/2 inch, not 5/8 like the others. I overlooked that when replacing the hoses and then had to replace it during my 5 speed swap.

well, I checked Napa first, and they were only able to come up with a bypass hose, no oil cooling hoses...so about $130 for all the heater hoses, oil cooling hoses and radiator hoses from C-Dan. good enough for me.

much better than the local dealership as far as service, time and price too.

might want to keep an eye on the high pressure hose from your power steering as well. it will have heat sheilding on it hiding the flexible part of the hose. mine was begining to leak so i replaced it. very brittle. i went to a hydrolic hose shop and they built me another for much less than oem, 65 bucks i think.
