best place to buy a drop pitman arm?

(I have an OME 2.5" lift). I was wheeling today and snapped my pitman arm in half up in a canyon. Upon further inspection, I saw that the tard PO, when installing the lift, must have cut the pitman in half, spaced it about 2-3" inches apart and welded two 1/8th inch steel plates on either side to hold it. These little plates were obviously no match for a few bumps and one of them snapped leaving my steering in major limbo. I was able to get out after sandwiching some flat steel with a few u-bolts, but this was going about 10-15 mph all the way home.

Where is the best place to order a drop arm and what size should I get?

I don't think the pitman arm need to be modified on a 2.5" lift. Why not stock?

the arm was modified when lifted, but given the nature of the problem, the guy who did it qualifies as a moron. so if I can go with a stock pitman, I will - can anybody else confirm this?

The PO put 6" shackles on my '84 & the Pittman arm is fine. Don't think you need a dropped one unless you go SOA.

How did you get your pitman arm off that broke.? I am trying to remove mine to put on another pump.

I just broke the 2 nd pitman arm puller tonight. The first one was from Kragen. The 2nd was the $6 one from harbor freight. See what they say when I take it back.Going to try taking it to a machine shop with a big press I guess next.

Use heat (oxy / accetaline) to get it apart, it will slide right off.

i have a pitman if you need. i'll send it to ya for $25. make sure you are using the puller correctly. they are designed to be tightened to a point, and then you hit the tightening bolt with a hammer and that force knocks it off.

Guess I tightened it too much before I hit it with the hammer. It broke after a few whacks with the hammer. Wish I had a torch but my tool chest is slowly growing.
