Thanks! I actually found the answers just now. I wonder if any magnetic case wireless charging compatible would work
I recently bought a Scosche dash sticky mount with magsafe charger configuration and then bought an android magsafe compatible everyday case from peak design for my pixel 6 and it worked out for wireless charging. it's not the strongest bond between the scosche magsafe mount and the peak designs case. i haven't had any issues with it falling off during standard bumpy driving on the streets, but i'm not sure it would hold for offroading.

the charging pace is slow but i'm not using the high wattage 12V adapter that comes with it. i'm tapping the USB off of my radar detector 12V plug.

the case should state 'magsafe'-compatible. They have the 'ring design' as seen in post #173 above

Mounted the OffRoam mount today and am pretty happy with the fit. Holds phone up and away from the vent and doesn't impede function of the vent or the flow of air. Threaded the cable down behind the trim and connected to the USB outlet from the beatsonic carplay unit under the console. I went with the magsafe holder and love the ease of use and it seems secure enough. Will find out on next trip to the beach!

Nice job tucking the USB power cable in behind the ignition button.
Just an FYI, there are also right/left hand USB-C plugs also if you think tucking to the left may make it a little more discrete.

hows the peak designs case? I'm debating getting the magnet mount vs the standard mount just because I like my case. Is it hard or a gel? Does it have metal, if so, how much? Or does it have a magnet? Sorry for all the questions, but its so hard to tell from just a pic

Hard case with some flex, with a very thin almost denim/cloth-like exterior feeling (they call it nylon canvas). It does have magnets in it. Looking now, offroam makes a mount that is specifically tailored to the everyday case. It's also Qi2 where I think my scosche might be Qi1. I may upgrade to that in the future.

Thank you very much!
My heart says thanks (defibulators hate magnets 🤣🤣)

I have the Peak Design case for my Samsung S23 Ultra. First case didn't fit correctly phone would not lay flat in it so exchanged it for another. Gave up on it when the second one did the same thing.

Have both the fixed ball mount adaptor charging non locking and locking charging. The locking one is anti vibration but the system makes it vibrate making the phone hard to read on gravel roads which I spend a lot of time on. I use that one on a cheap Moto G with OBD Fusion I wedged it into place with the cable management system and sit on top of the dash to help preventing it from vibrating, on the right.

I don't get cell phone reception in a lot of the places I go so run both Garmin and Google Maps. Even when I do get reception they both get confused often when you get far enough North. Common for them to say navigating off road even when I am on a road and think no I'm not off road, yet. For my regular phone I use the fixed mount. I ended up getting the universal adaptor for my Otterbox case but the charging is goofy on it. It cycles on and off and the charging plate gets really hot. So I don't run the cable to the mount but instead plug it into the phone directly when on longer trips. A PITA, after having the PD system for awhile now I'm not a fan.

The Gamiviti speaker mount on the other hand is solid as a rock and worth every penny IMO. You have to know how to run a 1/4x20 tap but it isn't that hard to do. Heck I don't even know where my tap handle went and use a Crescent wrench (AKA an Oklahoma Socket Set) to run threads with a tap.

The Garmin with FM traffic updater still adds functionality the latest is during road construction when traffic goes down to 2 lanes it tells you how much further until it is back to normal, 12 miles, etc. Mn. has 2 seasons road construction and winter so it is handy. And the the best way to get through places like Chicago although I will avoid it just like Atlanta, etc.

The chips were made by Eric Siegfried of Missoula, Montana originally OnX hunt, now including OnX offroad. He was at the Horse and Hunt Club Upland Gun Company shoot this summer as a sponsor

Was going to give him a hard time for discounting the chips but seeing how he runs a 8 hole dog box figured he isn't all bad. I won a subscription at the shoot but not going to install it. Like everyone he is moving to cloud based subscription. Not a fan of total phone convergence and there are better solutions and tools in the toolbox when you are in remote locations without cell service.

Been running a Garmin Alpha since they first came out with the dogs. I will not put a dog on the ground without the Alpha now. Especially in wolf country.

The Garmin Fenix pairs with the Alpha and dog collars don't have to look at the handheld and can locate the dogs at a glance

My Garmin gear isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Although my inreach mini died a wet death this summer finally and instead of replacing it with the same went with the Zolleo sat text system instead. Normally rent a sat phone for 6 weeks each fall but skipping this year $100 a week adds up over time. Fast.

Not a fan app ANYTHING cloud based, e.g. Microsoft 360, CorelDraw, Adobe, etc. I want to buy it, own it and upgrade when I feel like I need an upgrade.

I know this is a little off topic but since you brought it up, I love my Garmin Instinct Tactical Solar! Want to upgrade to their new Instinct, but can't justify since my current watch is fine.
I also have the protective rubber (silicone) boot over the bezel, a plug for the charge port and a "screen protector" over the crystal to save it from all my adventures. I used a short length of nylon thread, run a needle through it and secure it to the watch so if it comes uncapped from the charge port I don't lose it.

Just got the pro clip mount (center vent). It's nice and sturdy.
After some months of use, I rescind my endorsement of the Pro Clip mount. 1) Has become loose (on the top side) and I regularly have to re-set it (and it comes loose again fairly quickly) and 2) the hot So Cal sun has rendered the double-sided tape it uses on the bottom contact useless.

Update on my OffRoam mount with magsafe holder. Been to the beach twice and it's held onto my phone regardless of all the bumps I experienced, including on washboard access roads.

after a little over a month of use, the sticky pad connecting the Scosche mount to my dash has pretty much peeled and makes it useless. i need to peel it the rest of the way, clean the dash, some how clean the old sticky stuff off the Scosche mount, and try again with the secondary pad they sent...

When you reapply it, clean ALL the contact surfaces with IPA (not IPA beer).

I did this the first time around. It's not that the pad is separating from the dash, it's that the sticky material is breaking down and becoming "stringy" between the dash and the back of the mount. I'll try to grab a pic before I remove it. It hasn't been all that hot in the northeast since I installed it so I'm not sure what could have happened.
