Hey all,
I’m struggling to mount my phone in a good spot. Don’t see any flat spots for double sided tape. Help me out and post how you’re mounting your phone for the GX 460!
 
Best is totally subjective. I have some boundary conditions on my phone mounts. Must be at, or on top of, dash level to minimize taking eyes off the road. Cannot block any portion of the life-support vents, which suck anyway in the summer time temps here (easily 117°+ outside). Until I can convince the :princess: to drill through the dash like I did on my 100 series, I use a long arm suction cupped to the windshield with a dash support pad. Works well enough for now, but the summer sun will make the suction cup fail periodically.
 
Check out post #4 in my build thread. I bought a RAM mount and interfaced it to the left hand side of the steering wheel, near the A Pillar. I absolutely love this location.

I got the quad lock wireless charging doc mounted to the windshield and it has been great. Will take a picture when I get a chance. Only thing is you need to use their case.

Mine goes in the center console. I have no need for mounting the phone anywhere with Carplay.

I originally thought that but after doing my mount I can use a separate app on my phone like Gaia while car play is running. It actually ends up being helpful.
 
I am happy with my CD slot mount. Better than blocking the vents IMO.

I’ll take a picture of mine tomorrow. It’s double sided tape with a magnet on the back of my phone case. Super easy to attach/remove. I haven’t had any issue with the phone coming off.

Nope, its a shore power plug to a NOCO 5 amp dual battery charger. A standard alternator won't top up a AGM battery fully. They need to be maintained so I went the NOCO route. Tops up both the start and house battery. The house battery is topped up all the time by the Redarc BCDC when on the road either by the vehicle charging system or solar. I'll be adding a Redarc solar regulator to the start battery for on the road top off charging via a solar blanket. The other nice thing about the shore power is I can load my fridge up the night before a trip and not be concerned about drawing down the house battery.

Have any pics of this? I’m leaning this way bc it seems pretty solid and only $15. Just wondering what all the phone blocks in this position. I don’t think I own a single CD anymore.
