Has anyone ever put a bench seat i the front of a 62, If so how much was it and was it hard. Thanks

Toyota did it over here as well. The first bunch of BJ60s that came to Canada were not the "G" model and had vinyl floors, bench seats, and came in cool colours like dune beige.
I recently rescued one of those seats and floor mats to go into my BJ60. That center console is useless but there are times when its nice to have room for more people. ( or just have the people you like closer to you) I had a buddy who added a 70 sereis rear seat to his BJ60 and regularely traveled with 9 people (mosly kids) in his 60. They all had seatbelts.

Funny you should bring up the bench seat. I haven't had one in 20 years but was thinking about it just yesteday. Actually I'm a big fan of bucket seats but have some fond memories of a Ford station wagon filled with friends.
A Suburan bench would be too wide, wouldn't it? I doubt I'd yank some functional bucket seats out of a 60 to do a bench, but a friends 55 with the bench is pretty cool.

actauly a few bench seat(40/60) came into the US in the very 1st batch as well

Its just sitting in the garage I bought it for the 40...But went with a smaller bench seat.

I bet you could put the bench seat from a newer suburban... definatley NOT one of the 80's. Those things are huge!.

Does anyone know if a factory split front bench is a stock fit in an fj62 with buckets? I imagine the brackets near the ps door will line right up, what about the bracket near the driver's bucket?
Just bought a front bench and wondering the same thing. Any tips or threads for a install would be appreciated
I'm restoring one now and was curious but the 1981 is one of the few years it came with the bench seat.
Supposedly the first 2000 off the line in Japan so if you got one its a gem like mine. Not going to take less than 45K for her!
