I'm not sure if this is a common occurrence but there were bees galore at the base of bald last night and today. This was my first time camping there and when we woke up this morning I could hear the hum of bees in all directions. They basically attacked us all through breakfast and breaking down camp. They were all over the trail and even at the summit. Have any of you ever experienced this?

I've never had that problem there , I know about a mile past dinky bridge we always camped there , there's hives down the hill .... Oh and last month up at Hume ( buck rock) they were bad I must have swated 20 of them at breakfast....

was up there a few weekends ago and in the two years of going to bald. my last trip was the 1st time seeing bees. dont know whats going on. they too were attacking me.

We stayed at the campsites on rock creek road just past the trail head of Bald. It was awful. Lilly (daughter) sat in the Cruiser most the morning cause she was afraid of the bees. Couldn't wait to pack up and get out of there. Oh and which route do you guys usually take on bald. We stayed to the right at the fork and ended up coming back the other way. This was Mary Ann's (wife) first wheeling trip. She really enjoyed hiking type views without having to walk. I think we might sign up for a day trip for your Boy Scout weekend. I was a scout in Junior High until about age 16. I could put the seats back in if seats were needed. (Seats are up for grabs by the way)

I'm down to do some work. I have Friday and Saturday off and have to be at work Sunday night how far is it from Hanford? I'd have to ask the wife if I could go for the weekend. If I can get permission just let me know what tools to bring. Slickrock is that thing the 13th or 6th?

The 13th. Had thr wrong date in my phone. It takes 1:45 or so to get there. Go through Dinuba. It's faster that way.
