Well I was pretty smashed by the end, so my memory may have been fuzzy.
Here is my latest creation. It is a variation of a DFA 90 Minute IPA, using a different amber malt, and a 1 hour preboil, which took a 9% beer to about a 10.5% beer. It is very smooth, and will knock your socks off. As a matter of fact, it is the best IPA I have ever tasted. (appropriate glass)
On a slightly different note, I have been building a Recirculating Infusion Mash System (RIMS) for my beer. I built it out of some old computer parts, a Pelican Case, and some not so cheap parts from Auberins.com. It will make brewdays go faster, and increase my brewhouse efficiency. Still not finished, but all the electronics are in place and wired. The system uses a Fuzzylogic temperature controller that uses algorithms to "learn" the temperature curve of my particular system. The controller is attaced to a 2000W Ultra Low Watt heating element that is housed inside of a stainless steel tube that also contains an RTD thermoprobe. A pump will circulate the wort through the mash constantly, all while the temperature controller (PID) flashes the element on and off to maintain my desired mash temps. I can also use the PID to do a protein rest after the mash is complete. It is very very cool.
