All,

I have been able to duplicate (three times) a new and unusual situation with my 2013 LX570. Near my home there is an on-ramp with a sudden rise which is taken at approximately 45-55 mph. I have taken this on-ramp hundreds of times over the past several years, however as of last week when taking this route to the highway, upon suspension compression, I receive a short toned beep. This is not accompanied by any warning lights or behaviour changes in the vehicle. My foot is not on the brake at all. Additionally, i recently took a turn slightly faster than normal in a different area and duplicated the beep. There was absolutely zero slipping or traction lost in these moments and the road was completely dry. Again my driving route and speed has NOT changed but this beeping is new. I pulled DTC with my obd2 reader and everything is clear.

Has anyone experienced a beep from the drivers side while driving on road like this? Any idea what it could possibly be?

Sounds like your VSC is kicking in. Is it possible you just had an alignment, put a lift on in place of AHC, put a larger than stock tire on, or added a bit of weight, say a drawer system?

Anyhow, maybe try a zero point calibration and see what that nets you.

I agree with your assessment based on several threads I read on 4runner and tacoma forums. However...

No recent changes to the vehicle other than a new battery. Tires are less than a year old, riding on stock wheels, and are the stock size. No additional weight to the vehicle or modifications to the suspension or AHC. Only recent change was the addition of a 3D printed cup holder in the center console.

Not familiar with a zero point calibration. Any resources for that?

Since the behavior is new I immediately suspected a sensor going bad due to age and mileage (160k).

I don’t have a link handy, but if you search mud for Lexus zero point I’m positive you’ll find the manual pin method for doing it. I personally have techstream so that’s how I do it.

Edit, did a quick search and found this. It should be what you need.

Post #13 has the attachment needed to perform the calibration with and without a techstream. I'll definitely try this. Thank you!

Long shot but maybe you’re de-weighting the vehicle just enough for tires to flex and the computer THINK you have a traction situation?

Definitely following this thread, super weird.

I agree with @use2bn83 the beep is the vehicle stability management warning. I'm very familiar with the beep as I enjoy spirited driving and pushing the truck.

Question is whether this is a calibration issue or sign of another issue that's developing.
  1. First thing I would attack is Zero Point Calibration as posted above. It maybe that the calibration was always marginal. And the battery change was enough to just further marginalize some initialization.
  2. Next thing to ask or check is if there is a developing issue. In the 100-series, the Achilles heal that this was a symptom of was the steering rack bushings or tie rod ends (TRE)s. I don't know of a common weakness in the 200-series. It could be tire pressure, bushings, wheel bearings.
  3. Or none of the above. As we're in winter, cold tires and stiff rubber can grip just a bit less which could lead to this.
