Nice illustrations!!!

Automotive illustration. Landcruiser Heritage illustrations.

"Beau and Alan Daniels create cutaway, ghosted and phantom view illustrations in various styles including: Blueprint, watercolor, photorealistic, pencil, pen and ink, pastels, and black and white line art."

"A series of automotive illustration for Toyota Landcruiser. The new Lancruiser Heritage website was being constructed and Toyota needed a time line of Landcruiser images. The challenge here was that most models were either not available to be photographed, or were in too bad a shape to be used. They contacted us and asked us to illustrate the project. Following are the images we created in photoshop, together with the illustrator line art."

Very nice indeed.

My kind of art.

To bad they didn't have someone who knows a little about Land Cruiser doing a little proofing first. Wipers going the wrong way on the US 80 series. Steel wheels were never offered on a 80 series in the US. Fenders on the FJ45 look like they are aluminum not steel. I would have shown a Toyota PTO winch before I would show a aftermarket winch and bumper. Can't tell on the FJ25 if the wipers are correct since it doesn't have any. And the big mistake the front bumper on the FJ25 never came on a FJ25. :bang:

Is this a Toyota website or some one elses? They are nice illustrations but next time maybe they should post them here first to have a little proofing done.

I really hate to jump on the nit picking bandwagon.................but it's one of those days. :meh:

What? To who? Where? A two second Google search would pop up this site (and others) and yield enough resources to accurately depict each of those Australian models. Sure the graphics are great (I really don't know what it takes to render something like that) but it's painfully obvious that they were done from photos of specific vehicles. Copying the individual quirks of each.......as others have pointed out. Come on, if you're going to claim your doing the artwork because there isn't a good model, at least do some corrections in photoshop when you copy the picture. :hillbilly:

Here's the easy one, who recognizes the others? :hhmm:

I am no expert, but the fj25 doors and low mounted mirror also do not look even close to correct, or at least I have not seen it look like that.

If you haven't figured it out this was OZ spec FJ25. Cowl forward was the part of the body imported. The rest was produced in Australian. Jim right though it looks like they just took a picture of one for their design. I guess if they would have used the correct bumper when they restored the first FJ25 in OZ thejr design would have it too.

I knew I was no expert, and I have learned enough to say "Not that I have seen". Did other car companies do this type of stuff, different body styles for different countries for the same model or is this just an earlier year then was imported to the US?

Some research at google would have helped,
but seems Toyota like it
Toyota doesn`t have a Classic center like ( just some examples:
Porsche , Mercedes, BMW).
Toyota only want to sell new cars, that`s a shame!
see what BMW do:
"The BMW Group Classic.

BMW Group Classic is both the memory and the soul of BMW Group. BMW Group Classic is responsible for the history of the active brands, as well as the inactive brands, and thus makes them an experience. BMW Group Classic is the center of excellence when it comes to enquiries concerning all aspects of the history, and the primary contact point for owners of all models of classic vehicles. BMW Group Classic documents the history of all models and brings new life to them. All activities involved in this multi-faceted history are integrated into the current activities of the company."

Cheers
