It looks like BeatSonic finally released CarPlay solution for the LC $649

Looks like it only supports wired CarPlay. IMHO that’s a huge negative compared to Naviplus and EC Off-road. Wireless CarPlay makes a HUGE difference. There’s also no native Android functionality, should you care about that. It’s a less expensive option, for sure, but this seems like a case of you get what you pay for.

Yes, there are specific instructions to initialize the SWC. I think this should help. Hmm I believe I did turn of AVI1/2/3 and HDMI...do you know how this relates to the steering wheel control?

I've got AdBlocker and NoScript running, so I may be missing that an advertisement was added after my post, but the CarPlay2Air is designed to work with factory CarPlay solutions and the BeatSonic Q&A section indicates their solution is wired only. So before buying both, I would want the BeatSonic crew to say that combination will work. Having lived with wired only CarPlay in my prior vehicle, where I pretty much never used it and now with wireless CarPlay via the EC Offroad unit where I use it pretty much all the time, I wouldn't consider going with an option that doesn't have a way to support wireless.

What do you use for CarPlay wireless? Does it work good? I looked at some reviews where they say core issue is a screen resolution. I have 2021 coming and thought about carplay. But definitely want wireless.

I use the EC Offroad android box, as I mentioned in my previous post. It works pretty well, but so far none of these Land Cruiser CarPlay solutions are 100% perfect. There's a thread all about the EC Offroad unit that you may want to take a look at for more info.

Question about wired connection with Beatsonic. How many amps in the USB port? Can it keep up with charging an iphone?

My wired one charges the phone just fine while using google maps. But Beatsonic came out with wireless a couple years ago, not sure they even sell the wired version anymore.

Charge very slow, probably just enough to keep up with navigation and music.

New current version still has USB, but set up from BeatSonic to be wireless 1st.
