Another thing to check is natural food sources for where you plan to visit. Call NFS or other. We have had so much rain this year I have not seen a bear in my yard all year. On dryer years with less natural food we have had way more bear issues. I know they are around as I see scat. But they are not checking if my car door or garage is unlocked. The only bear I’ve ever shot was in my driveway. There is a special feeling that comes over you after you’ve emptied both barrels of rubber buck shot and now you’re standing in your boxer shorts with only a really expensive club. And said bear doesn’t leave.
