I wish the black wheel fad would die along with the carolina squat and flat brim hats. This is coming from a guy that ran black wheels on a white tacoma. They look ok, but I like an aluminum rim to contrast the black of the wheel. That wheel in gunmetal grey would be glorious. My .02.

PS- OP, you have a beautiful truck. super jealous.

I did that wheel and had the black powder coated silver. I almost went with gunmetal gray. I also removed the chrome strips on the sides.

Your truck is too shiny. I was looking at the pic (driver's side front bumper) and wondering how the heck a new plastic bumper got all rusty. Then it hit me it was a reflection. Very clean look.

I think the pic just looked like that. I have a new iPhone. It’s not really all that shiny.

I've always understood that the heat required from powder coating is in the same or higher temp range that the original aging of the wheels, could affect the strength of forged wheels. I know many do it, but have read too many manufacturer and other warnings that I'd prefer to err on the side of caution over color.

What coating is on them from the factory? Whatever it is.. it is quite tough and thick.

Many forged wheels are powder coated from the factory, but as I understand, it is done as part of the anealling process. If you do powder coat, I think there are low temp powders (250 degree cure temp) to lower the risk of weakening the wheels. Definitely not an expert in this area, but I read enough on other forums to be cautious.

I love this set up.. I just purchasd a 2021 Black LC and looking to update the wheels to 18" BBS. I was considering Broonze vs. Black vs. Gunmetal. This looks great. I think I'm going to copy 😉
