Description: This is a scenic fun trail that runs the canyons the East of Dayton. There are a lot of rock formations, mining, and trees along a creek that make this an interesting trail.

Got my call covered!!!:bounce::bounce2:
WHEEEEEELING BITCHES!!!!!:steer:

So this is a pretty easy going trail?! Don't believe the wife and I have anything going on so I may try and sneak out.

It CAN be hard if you want it to be.
Its still a good little trail that I would definitely recommend at least a small lift and some bigger tires, but...its not a hard trail if you stay to the MAIN trail.
That whats cool about it. Its a good run for pretty much all types of rigs.
Dont forget, there will be a fair number of people to spot and stack if needed to stave off unwanted body damage.
I forget...is your rig lifted or have sliders on it?

I hope to make it. I've been wanting to do this trail for some time. I missed it when my old club came down from the lake to do this run.
Am glad to be joining this club, this'll get me out there wheeling more!

I'm hoping not too bad, my rig is not quite where I want it yet. My lift should be here by the weekend, but I'm not sure if I'll have time to get it put in. And I need to find a place to press in the bushings.

I also have sliders, BUT, they're not mounted. I got a set of sliders from Rocky Road Outfitters. Did my best to put them on, but one broken crossmember bolt and interference with what I think are brake lines stopped me in my tracks. They are burly as s:censor:t and I am glad I got them. However, mounting them is apparently beyond my current skill-set. :bang:
I've been meaning to talk to some 4x4 guys to get recommendations on a shop to go to for mounting them. Yet another good reason to join this club!

How our club runs work, NO MAN LEFT BEHIND!!
If this will be one of your first runs, this is a GREAT TRAIL and GREAT GROUP to start with.
There's a trail leader and a tail gunner with radio Communication. If someone is struggling, we all hold up and help where needed.
Well get you through.

First run in the region, been wheeling Toyotas for years up and around Tahoe.
I'm just concerned about my rockers since I haven't seen the trail yet. I'm pretty good at picking lines in those rocky Tahoe trails. So far over the years (knock on wood) I have spared my rockers without sliders.
This 60 is only one year old for me, and the nicest vehicle I've owned so I'm being a bit cautious. ;)

Speaking of, do you guys use simplex, or is there a repeater/repeaters that covers that area? My radio is a biotch to program in the field, easier to setup at home on the computer.

I've done the trail a couple of times in my FJ60 with a mild lift and 33's, except for taking a stupid line once and sliding off a rock no body damage.

146.460 simplex

I got nothing Keith.. I got stock saggy bottom, stock size tires, all that jazz.. But this summer hoping to go with AALs and 31s when I need new tires, got to do things as funds are available.

Aaaaaah...
Me personally, I'd wanna have a BIT of a lift and some bigger meats, but others may chime in on that kind of set up.
Most of the trail (as I recall) you'd be fine with, but there are a few places where it'd be nice to have some additional clearance.
If you're feeling ambitious, we will get you through, though.
Like I said... Someone else may have a better take on a stock configuration cruiser.
We ran it last spring when my rig was just coming off the shelf, so I wasn't paying that much attention to ALL the lines.

Yeah I am thinking a stock, saggy butt FJ60 with stock tires and the fronts being HWY tires (read NO GRIP off road) is probably a bad idea!!
Looks like I will stick with fire roads for now until I can get some more "trail worthy" accessories. :D

I got room for extra if you want to come, but don't want to drive. If so I could pick you up on the way to Dayton.

Your description of your rig was my primary wheeler for YEARS, 60's are quite capable even with saggy springs and slicks. ;)

Hmmm...I might be able to make this one. Gotta a buddy coming in to town...if he makes it in on Friday then I should have the green light.

My buddy dusty is gonna come too and further SOIL the run w/ a HEEP!!
Gonna be FUN!!

I'm SOOOO FRIGGIN EXCITED!!!!

I'm giddy!! :)

Oh crap, I have another jeep guy that wants to tag along as well, so that will make for a very dirty LC run with three jeeps...:flipoff2:

What's the world coming to? Next thing you know, cats and dogs will be getting along, republicans and democrats will work together for the good of the country instead of their own agendas...nah, that will never happen.:D

See everyone there.

Jack
