Starting last week i noticed that my 2000 Lx was struggling to start and it was getting worse the longer i let it sit without being started. i went to batteries plus and they said that the battery was reading kinda low but since it was a deep cycle they were not sure without bench testing it. i have already done the starter contacts job and they said that the alternator was absolutly fine so since the battery was about 4 years old i decided to just replace it anyways and everything seems to be fine but it has only been a few hours and now i am getting worried that there might be some other problem that i missed that was killing the battery. i have not done any recent electrical mods or anything but i am a worry wart and just wanted to know what you guys thought. Thanks.

My thought is why was there a deep cycle in there? Those are for boats. IMHO, any battery that is 48 months old is suspect. Some will go 5-6 years, but it sounds like yours was dying. I wouldn't worry about it any more.

Agreed. Old battery. Past time for fresh one.

I agree I just got a new Interstate for my 99, the old one was around 3-4 years old and the vehilce lived in southern AZ which is very hard on batteries. I got one slow start engine turnover and just replaced it. They don't get better with age :)
