hello all, so i have a battery scenario that i would love feedback on. I'm switching the factory alt to a 250 amp alt. At the same time I'm doing my big three upgrade where I'm upgrading all my wires from the factory size wire to 2/0 welding wire. Now here's my scenario. I will be running a pretty small agm battery in the rear (Stinger spv 44, more of a cap) and wanted to put a solid agm battery up front.

So, here are my options since the red needs to be on the right
1. buy a $300 plus 27F Northstar that is just over 90 Ah
2. Buy a $200 27M that has the red on the right. I found this one at batteries plus
SLI27MAGMDC - Duracell Ultra AGM Battery Deep Cycle BCI Group 27M Marine and Boat at Batteries Plus Bulbs
this one too, same battery i think, can probably just turn the battery around since terminals are inthe middle
Deka 8A27 (8A27M) AGM Battery
3. Buy a different size agm battery (big as i can fit in stock area) and just make my battery wires longer to accomodate the red being on the left. And that's really if i can get a big agm with enough cca to start the truck for under $200 as posted in option 2.

Let me know what you guys think,

I would go with the 27F agm, it should fit without modification and should be less than getting the 31M slee tray (120 + shipping) and budget priced 31M AGM.

At Sam's Club you can get the Duracell Ultra Platinum SLI31DTMAGMDC Size: 31M 105AHr 800CCA Wgt: 67.35 lbs, L x W x H: 12.94 x 6.75 x 9.5 for like 180 (member's price) but only an 18 month warranty. Or you could go with it from Batteriesplus for Price: 239.99** with a 30 month warranty.

One thing I noticed is that the larger AGMs are really sensitive in needing to be periodically recharged to 100% and would recommend getting a special AGM charger to periodically top off your batteries. My diehard platinum Group 65 (odyssey rebadge is still going strong at year 8). The stock OEM alternator voltage regulator set point is low (for AGM batteries) at 14.2 volts. The recommended absorption / bulk charge voltage is 14.7.

has anyone used a 94R or H7? Red on the right like a 27F and The length and width are nearly identical. the only difference is the height is about 1" off. And I'm thinking a battery tray/spacer would offset this. Anyone?

Add the Slee AGM battery tray and the Interstate battery it's made for. Best battery upgrade you can do.

Are you going to be running accessories off this battery with the vehicle off, like a fridge? Why would you need the bigger, more expensive, heavier, group 31 battery if all you're using it for is to start your vehicle?

I'd go with a cheap, warranted, group 27f Bosch from Pep Boys and pocket the savings. Get your self a portable jump pack if you're worried about a no start....

I know that's the best upgrade but I'm not currently wheeling in my lc100 right now so I just need to get a bigger battery in the factory location that will be secure enough for basic in town/highway driving. Goal is to spend under $200

Could do what I did.

Slightly extended the positive terminal, removed plastic battery tray, and used a 1/2" longer bolt for the front of the battery tie down. Fits perfectly.

Battery is a x2 power AGM group 31m. 100ah, 1150cca. SLI31AGMDPM - X2Power Battery Deep Cycle BCI Group 31M Marine and Boat at Batteries Plus Bulbs

I bought the battery from them earlier this year for $320 out the door.
