Was having recent battery issues( drain) Rebuilt alternator. Now voltage reading on dash is about 16 v. Used to be at approximate 24 v. Also, since rebuild my coil and other dash lights don't come on when I put in key and turn on like they used to. I can get the glow plug light to function if I turn the key ever so slightly. I have ordered new ignition switch as I think it is failing. My real question is why is the volt reading on the dash so low now. I have brand new batteries in now and same reading( around 16 v). What should the reading be. This is a 24v Canadian bj70.

Is it possible the repair shop put a 12 v regulator on my
24 v alternator.....I'm quite new to this and getting quite frustrated by the dying battery issue.

I would certainly contact them to find out. John
