Hi Guys,

I just wanted to recommend Urban Land Cruiser's (mud vendor) battery wiring kit for the FJ60. I purchased it and installed it in my FJ60 just last week and l think it was well worth the money. You can find the details regarding the kit here:

Urban Land Cruisers LLC | Cool Stuff for Sale | Cables

Great quality product and great instructions. Tossing the rusty old stock cables for the new stuff made a noticeable difference in my starter - the kit even includes a new fuseable link. I figure it cost me less than I would have spent to have somebody here in town replace the cabling but I had the pleasure of doing the work and I ended up w/ what looks like a very professional installation.

Another reason for the replacement - my amateur $15 fuse block in the cab caught on fire and melted a bunch of stuff. ; )

Highly recommend.

I have thier cables too. Nice, but what a PITA company to deal with. Took me a month to get them, and nobody would return any of my calls or emails.

I will never use them again, too bad, cause they do have a good product.

$200 is really not all that bad for someone who doesn't want to do the work themselves. I just spent $170 @ NAPA for 1/0 battery cable and soderable ends plus heat shrink to seal it all up.

Welding cable is quite a bit cheaper than 'battery cable'. I got a bunch of the 1/0 welding cable and just used some heat shrink tubing to protect that soft rubber outer. Works better than battery cable. Easier to bend. Not to mention a 1/4 the price!

So what is the difference between the two ?

welding cable is finer and more efficient..

1/0 should be about $2.00 per foot.

Thanks Mace, Thats good to know.

Dang! wish i'd known that before I went and threw down for battery cable.:frown: Oh well. now I know:D
