Well, lets say 2000.-5000. (lower is better) prefer mid to late 80s or early 90s era pickup 4x4 with long bed and or extra cab. 5 speed manual, w 22re engine. want to put a camper shell on it for road trips and keep my gear dry as a DD.

I plan to take a look at the Nissan today. Just curious, apart for toyota team spirit, is there something wrong with nissan?

Im not the guy you want to get mechanical advice from by any stretch, but I love the looks of that generation of Nissan "hard bodies" or whatever they used to call them.
 
Barry I have been looking for about 6 months and have not found a toyota that is nice enough in that price range to dd.

That has not had some whacked out lift or a trashed interior.

That Nissan engine is as good as a 22re in my option.

Nissan made a quality truck...

Well, I might go up in price a little. I have seen a few I would go after. Not so concerned about the interior--within reason.
 
There is a fairly nice 87 Toyota 4x on Eldoarkclassifides.com for 3500. Sorry , haven't figured out how to post links from my phone yet :(
 
while not a mechanical issue....mostly cosmetic.. the nissan pu dashes can almost melt away... a/c vents literally fall out due to warpage from the heat.. I would look very close at the dash of any older model nissan PU... my dad's old truck has some serious issues with "sun" damage to the interior.

Barry you can also set up a search on autotrader, define truck very specifically including how far from home and the site will automatically email you every morning there are new results.

thanks. i have been watching AT for awhile.

If he doesn't sell by friday. I will drive over to Hope and check out the one Bomar posted.
