squeezed 22mpg out of the old truck this week. thats with an intake leak and an exhaust leak. hope to to improve on it a little still.

thread sealant question
I just finished installing my sun-pro temp sender in the block near the firewall. The kit I bought had the right bolt with it. At first I thought it was the wrong size but after cleaning the sediment off the threads with brass bottle brush (please say 10 times fast), it went right in.
Question: I used some Permatex thread sealer on the fitting. Can I refill the coolant and start it right up or do I need to let the sealant dry over night?

Anyone know what the safe operating temperature range is for the 22R?

Sounds right. I believe that's the thermostats you can buy for it, too. I think I'm running the 180*.

no issues. i just want to know what the range is now I have a gauge. I have been driving with no guage and no problems. but its a good thing to know

Got the sensor installed. Truck is running again with fresh coolant. Guage is responsive.

i recall some of you suggesting i buy this truck when i was looking. i saw it parked in the fortification ymca parking lot today. i guess an athletic person bought it.
