Hey guys,

We have a tropical system SE of the Bahamas with South Florida in it's crosshairs. Expected landfall is this weekend. Palm Beach County, where I live, is in the middle of the projected path.

Forecasters predict a graduall increase. Some of you know what me and other Floridians went through last summer.

At this point in time, my trip to the annual meet is on hold. If the weather unfolds the way I suspect it will, I will be putting up storm shutters while you guys are tossing shoes, eating vittles, and running around around Mountain Estates. :crybaby:

All you horse shoe throwers may be getting a reprieve. :flipoff2:

I'd say you need to evacuate those cruisers now before any damage comes to them. I think they would fair better if they faced Hurricane Mountain Estates. Get those boards on and get out of there.

Ditto on what marshall says...board up now and come on up....that's what insurance is for.....ya know I hope everything is ok....but you being there Jim aint gonna stop the big bad wolf from blowing down the house. Would rather have you up here safe then takin chances down there. Some come on up......like that saying goes " forget about it"

Nothing I'd rather be doing than driving north to get to the south this weekend. I have been getting ready for trhis thing since 7:00 AM this morning. I have 37 window openings to secure, yard/patio stuff to secure, 4 vehicles to secure, 3 boats, 2 kayaks to secure, and a lot of other stuff I haven't even begun to think about like buy about 75 gallons of gasoling, fuel up all vehicles, test-start the generator, grocery shop, and ice-down some beer/water.

I will busy for the next 36 hours. We kinda have it down to a drill now. Insurance companies here suck, found that out last summer.

Thanks for all the support. I'll post some reports/pics if anything cool happens, but this one *should* be a light hit wind-wise.

Here's a reminder from last september.

Keep 'em safe

Capt'n Jim has his priorities in order. Take care man, we'll miss you
but we all understand the need to serve and protect our loved ones and property.
Hehe....I hope the come-a-long you won at an annual meet helps again
with the securing tasks. Hold tight till the footing right Capt'n!
See you soon. Maybe for the CU vs Um game ?
Kiss the girls for me and know that ya'll are in our prayers.

I like the satellite pic. I am even with the bottom Lake Okeechobee,(that big blue thing halway between the coasts), on the east coast. Beautiful day here today, in the 90's and partly cloudy. Breeze is beginning to pick up. Lots of high altitude clouds, which is kind of strange for this time of year.

Well Jim This is the pits. I hope for no damage. we'll miss you my friend. Barry too!
