This is where my dad and I left on the crusier almost one year ago after my mother passed away.

Everything on our 1966 Fj40 has been removed.

Frame has been sandblasted, then used Por - 15's Marine-clean, metal-ready, Por - 15 , then coated the frame with Chassis coat black. We also did the same process with the axles.

Tomorrow we are going to start work again, I assume we will try to connect the front axle back the frame, try to get done sandblasting the two fender flares and the hood. The only thing that I can see taking up some time is getting that whole entire tub sanblasted, any tips on suggestions on that ?

What kind of sandblaster are you using? If your using a cheap harbor freight job like I have, its going to take awhile. You can rent a large unit and knock it out quickly, or hire it out. Good luck!

I can't remember for sure but I think I paid 300 bucks to have the tub blasted along with some parts...... Or maybe it was 300 for the frame and rear end plus springs... Sorry I guess I am not much help. Sorry to hear about your Mom! Put a tarp down so that you can pick your sand back up, rescreen it, and use it again. I have used a small harbor freight blaster at my house with a pretty large compressor and I rather had tried to chip the paint off with a rock!!!! However I have used the same style blaster at an old mill with a HUGE compressor and it worked like a dream...... However if I had to do it all over again I would still have paid to have it done.
I am not sure if I would recommend blasting the hood or the doors.... They are thinner and you could make yourself a lot of work by accident. The tub, back doors, front grill support, etc. go for it they are either thick metal or have a lot of stamping.

I looked it back up and yep 300.00. We just did a old Dodge Dart and we used about 5 bags but I can't remember how much each bag was..... Wasn't free!!!! :-)

"So it is blasted now ($300.00 included trans hump, and radiator support) and they did a great job!!"
