After almost 2 years in the JKU I decided that I missed the Toyota quality and fit and finish to their products. I have been looking for a while to find the replacement 100 series and recently came across one that fit the bill. It checked out in person, paperwork was taken care of so we now own an 06 LX470 with 141k on the odometer, timing belt was done at 96k and good service records with the dealership and 1 owner. Nothing major will be done for a while.

Congrats and welcome.

What was your experience with the JKU that caused you to switch?

Lack of comfort for traveling, and repeated visits to dealer, ever under warranty the Jeep service is very poor, I didn't want to get stuck footing the bill down the road when build quality is lacking.

Congrats! Got my 2000 LX470 about five months ago love it.

Congrats and Welcome to Mud! Looks very clean. How's the underside of an all original LX that's lived in Nashville? Rust free? Would love to know the details of the purchase (PM me if you don't want to post here). May have to head your way for my next one :)

RND1, this one spent most of its time in Florida and must have been garaged most of the time because the underside looks great but you can tell it hasn't been resprayed.
Scat, I promised my with the running boards would be staying for a while, she wasn't a fan when I removed the steps in the Jeep. Plans are in the works for future sliders and bumpers to be added.

Greetings from a fellow JKU owner !! (See sig below). Did u mod Ur Jk? Forbes ranks the jeep wrangler jk as one of the top 10 worst cars to buy based on comfort and reliability lol!

I found one of the CV boots had some grease leaking out around the seal so ordered band clamps from pfran and swapped that one and now have spares on hand.

Replaced the heater hose T's, I found it was a little easier to remove from the metal pipe connections even then when carefully removing the old T they just fell apart. I did have a small drip start after around one of the pipes

so added a screw band clamp, hopefully the problem is solved.

Either place the clamp exactly where it came off or replace the hose. Or in your case you can tighten down with a worm gear clamp.

This past weekend I worked through troubleshooting an issue with the horn not working, after verifying all the connectors were tight of course the horn is working. Via Techstream I disabled the auto tilt and telescope function so it will hopefully continue working as it seemed related to the in and out function.

Also changed fluids in both diffs and the transfer case. The rear diff didn't look too bad, transfer case looked dark and front diff looked gunky so good thing I got to it. After driving a little it feels smoother, next is to get the tranny fluid changed out.
