Axle Sliding Out of Diff

Just installed a new axle from CVJ. Axle went into diff and locked as expected - no hiccups with install (except fighting rust and breaking ABS sensor).

Got under the truck a week later to make sure everything looked good. Noticed diff oil and the axle sticking out of the diff further than it should (about 2x the normal distance). I can grab it with my hand and push it back in where it should be and pull it back out again.

Bad inner c-clip? Anyone experienced this or have any thoughts?

I did have this problem. I took it back to the guy who installed it claiming he probably didn't install the C clip. But he said he did. I had manually pushed it back in with my hand once at home. Then when he inspected it, it was still in. He just topped off the front diff fluid. Weird. Was a one time thing. I checked it periodically, but it's stayed in since.
