I have 16 LC and cannot figure out how to play video in the back screens and at the same time listen music at front.

I have connected one phone through HDMI in the back. While playing the video, I am not able to turn radio, play music from other phone, etc.. at front. As well when phone call comes in, the video on the back continues, but sound video disappeared from screens.

How to keep back and front independent of each other?

I know my 2011 can play music in the front while the kids are watching a movie in the back. My wife uses it all the time, she said you have to use the headphones in the back.

I have never tried.

Thanks! We are using headphones in the back too, but hear the movie playing through regular speakers too. Any changes at front or back impact the whole vehicles. Looks like back to the drawing board.

Just played with this this weekend: using the remote, select "input". At the bottom corner of the screen (2nd row) is a toggle for "speakers". Toggle it off and use the headphone. Once you do this, you can play music (FM, aux, etc. but not DVD/CD). Hope this helps.

Thanks! Got it working. The most stupid thing I have ever seen. Even when in headphones mode, you need to switch to external speakers and back to headphones. Only then the system will let you use two system independently even including watching movies in the back and music at front.

Thanks...Was frustrated by that on a first road trip with the kids. Knew there had to be a way...

I was frustrated too on my first trip. Spent couple movies hearing playback on front speakers too while playing through headphones too.
