Looking to add some Aux lights onto new ARB Bull Bar. Trying to determine which lights would be best set up. Came across this one set up but not sure what Model Piaa it is. Can someone tell me what model Piaa light is on this truck? (down below - the small round set)

Anyone have any comments about this set of Piaa lights? I would like to use the small Piaas and add on some Cibie Driving/Fog Lights on top. Anyone running same set up or similar? Any comments or suggestion is welcome.

I got a pair of Super Oscar dual AB/LP beam lamps from Daniel Stern Lighting [dastern@torque.net], but they are kind of big.

I did find another individual that has the same size as my Oscars and you have to redrill the mounting holes all the way forward on the tabs. This only leave about 1/10 of an inch for adjustment.

I havent installed mine yet because I'm creating an entirely new relay operated harness for all of my lamps plus the turn signals. FWIW I'm going to have my turn signals operate all 3 lights per side (ARB light, turn signal, and driving light), but I have to reverse the logic of the driving light when the head lights are on.

Needless to say you might want to use the Super Oscars as the maxium size when determining your purchase.

Hey Steve,

I don't know exactly which PIAA model those lights are, but this might help a little:
http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamps-General.html

If you have the bucks:
http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamps-HID.html

Or I would LOVE to get each set of these driving/cornering lights here:
http://www.cibie-tuning.com/OscarLAD.html
(Cornering: Length: 1650 ft x Width: 360 ft)
(Driving: Length: 4000 ft x Width: 150 ft)

Non HID versions listed here:
http://www.bmackay.com.au/townandcountry4wd/lights.html

Of course, the biggest daddy of them all is the Lightforce 240 (Blitz: HID, Mega bucks!):

Thanks for the links. I did come accross Daniel Stern Lighting when researching on here. I am still trying to determine which one would be best for quality and money. The Oscar LAD sounds like those would fit well. I need to get out this coming weekend and go look at some of these at the shops.

Curently, my goal is to get something that is not too costly which would be $250 or less and provide better lighting then my high beams when needed when driving dark roads or under foul weather conditions in mountains.

I did come accross a deal online for Hella FF1000s at: www.rallylights.com
For the cost it seems like a good deal. I know DocMallory has a pair on his rig and likes them. Do any of you out there running this particular lighting have any specific likes or dislikes? Again, what I want the lights for is to be able to light up the roads when my high beams won't do the job.

Thanks guys

Have you considered the Lightforce 240 Blitz (the affordable model, not the HID variety)?
From what I've read they're about as bright as it gets and you can alter the beam pattern/focus to suit the conditions. Plus I dig the idea of snap on filters to change the color.

I used to run the lightforce 170's on my 4Runner--they are sweet. They focus like a maglite and you can snap on different colored filters according to weather conditions. Some filters will also have a combo beam pattern spot/flood. I just ordered 4 240 blitz from Slee--3 up front and 1 for the rear :D I have run hella, piaa, lightforce, and IPF--Both IPF and Lightforce you can't go wrong with.

You should also check into the HIR bulbs for your normal lights--Daniel Stern sells them--there are some great reviews on this board.

Lightforce good, got a pair of un-used 240's
PIAA 80 series racing, H-4 high low beam good
Hella 4000's good

hella 1000.............wouldn't waste my time.

I like my PIAA's there very handy just wish some states weren't so bas akwards when it came to there law governing these sorts of things.
