NO DOWNLOADING FOR A FRIEND

Friend has a 93, no FSM. I'm paying for a 24hr. scrip, downloading my 97 and his 93, not charging him. Hope that's kosher.

Then I'm downloading all of them and opening an Ebay store.

KIDDING. :flipoff2:

FZJ, your friend needs to buy a separate $10 account and have you download his manual by logging into the account. The toyota copyright info strictly states that each account is only good for one individual and that the license to view the files is for one person only.

I have no way of knowing if you take that route or not, but for the benefit of the whole community, I trust that you'll make the right decision. :D

Besides, paying $10 per manual is alot more tolerable than paying $150 per manual... so guys please don't shoot us in the foot and lose this for us all.

Cory,
Personally, I don't think this is kosher. Your friend should pay his TIS subscription fee and download his manual. If he has to use your computer and your connection then that's OK but you should not download it for him using your TIS subscription.

Please reconsider your plans.

I have to agree with the others, your friend should buy his own.

A true hero only uses his powers for good, and I think Nate is trying to be a true hero to the cruiser community. The closer we adhere to the rules, the less likely someone at Toyota will be upset by making it easier to get these things.

My .02...

edit: sorry, you posted your reply while I was typing. And yes, I'm a dork.

Quick tip with an issue I had. I'm using Firefox 2.0 and had it set to open new pages in a new tab rather than new window. For some reason, it wasn't able to open the pdf files. I set Firefox to open new pages in a new window, problem solved.

Just checking to see if I forgot to run any new vehicles or documents for anybody.

Yell at me either in this thread or via PM if I forgot you.

Nate... you da Man! :smokin:

I'm ready to do the great Nate download of the '97 Cruiser manuals on TIS and was wondering if you have the chance to so graciously create a 2006 Tacoma download package?

Thanks Again!

Sorry guys, I'll do these tonight! I've had migraines all day today and had to stay away from computer screens.

EDIT: Ok, updated the listing with ATM/EWD/NCF/RM docs for the 04 and 06 tacoma. Anyone else?

Help Please

I am having trouble with step #5. (have been for several hours now)

"5) Locate the file cookies.txt in the folder where you unzipped everything and copy the part of the cookie that is very long and cryptic over the indicated text (the SMSESSION value will be long and look something like this F0M6xHW55..........)"

Please elaborate a bit on this step. I have found the 'long and cryptic' thing and pasted it into the cookies.txt notebook.

Am I putting this in the wrong area?

Elaborate on the insertion point where you are changing the cookie. Can you cut-n-paste your Cookie.TXT file so we can see what you have changed?

I've opened the cookies.txt file, cleared the page and inserted the long cryptic thing in place.

Does that make sense?

We're getting it done on AIM :D

edit: all good!

Got it! Thanks for your help Nate!

Beowulf, thank you too for the replies!

Nater, Beowolf, anyone....

I just downloaded the zipped files from Natogator's post #138 on this thread. It is the 97 LX450RM.

Is this the repair manual? How do I access it? Apparently there is still a subscription to buy, and another download to make?

I am pretty computer stupid. HELP PLEASE!
