auto up/down window switches

guys - did a search and didnt find anything.....the only auto up/down window switch in my '00 is the driver window. is it possible to replace the passenger & rear window switches on a '00 with auto up/down switches from later model years, or just buy 3 more driver side switches?

I cant think of reasons why not - but is it the switch itself that stops sending current to the motor when the window is all the way up or down, or is a relay in the motor in each door?

Thanks - from that , I am reading it wont work! Cannot for the life of me figure out why Toyota would have auto switches for both driver and passenger windows in the '00 4runner, but not the '00 Cruiser?!

Anyone looked at swapping the guts of the 4runner switches?

yeah and connie teases me that her LX window switchs all light up......and the Cruisers don't

It's probably like most things...when something doesn't make sense follow the money trail. I would suspect Toyota sells quite a few more 4Runners than LC even back in '00. Anything they add/change to a vehicle potentially results in an added cost (hardware + engineering costs)...that have to be off-set in either increased sales price or sales units. I think LC sales have been flat for some time. I could be out of the ball-park on this one...JMHO. Another one that's kind of a pain...the window switches are not so easy/convenient/ergo to get at due to the door handle obstructing the switch panel. Don't know if the LX is like this or not. But the darn thing sure works great off-road!
