Here are pictures of my FJ45V. You may have seen it advertised a few months back. This is 1965 model. Side indicator lights have been replaced with later 40 series lights. Rear and front clear indicators are not original. Front floor pans you see daylight but pretty solid in the rear. Rockers are good. Good honest truck.

It had a full length roof rack. It was working truck and still registered when I acquired it. The plan is to restore it back to original. I'm thinking of either going clear coat like the Terrain Tamer one although tossing up painting it two tone blue/white to match my finalpig. Under all the layers of paint it seems it was originally blue.

Few additional switches and gauges over the years.

When the previous owner purchased the car 35 years ago it came with these seats. They are very comfortable and in good condition. Does anyone recognise which car they came from?

That has to be one of the best 45lv's that I have ever seen were are you located the terrain tamer rig looked great clear coat have only seen it in person once awesome

Very jealous, I was trying to convince the missus that this would be perfect for us, but she wasn't convinced. I think the big ugly roof rack put her off, but it looks like a very solid truck that hasn't been too modified.

Glad it went to a good home ( based on the 55 in the back ground), good luck with the resto.

i think it has a bad motor. It apparently was rebuilt 2 years ago and only done 300km. I think the owner is honest but wonder what the transport company has done to it. Choke cable was snapped when it arrived. I think they over reved it. I thought it was a sticky carby problem. After rebuilding it I'm getting a pool of engine oil coming out of exhaust manifold at a rapid rate and it dies after 10secs. Lots of white exhaust smoke. Any thoughts? I hope it is not something major but it sounds terminal.

When the last owner purchased it the tailgate had fallen off and he has welded the hinges on. Can anyone tell me if this tailgate plate is original? It doesn't have a logo. The handle has some damage. Anyone have a replacement for sale?

I cant even give this engine away and spent $500 geting it going right. Off to the scrappy with it and the rest of the 45 stuff.

So after work I undid both bolts in darkness and low and behold:
49 years of queensland red dust and this gem:

Anyone shed some light on this? Its pretty cool the things I'm discovering about this truck. The rest of the handle is in a poor state. I assume it is aluminium? Anyone ever TIG repaired one?

I did contact the Austin 1800 experts and they don't think they are Austin seats. The previous owner thought it was maybe Renault.

You can add this chassis number to the FJ45LV list. Not sure why someone drilled two holes through the plate and through the firewall.

that looks awesome! if that car came from queensland it must have had a pretty well looked after life as it dosnt look like too much rust but never know till you sand blast it..

what are you in detail plans for the resto will it be full original F135 engine or are you just going to run a 2f. my F135 engine is currently being rebuilt for my 45v and it will be great to drop it back on my chassis soon!

looking forward to see what you do

I haven't had a chance to do a compression test to find out the condition of the engine. I would love to do F/3speed column shift and have original bench seats. Sadly I can't find the bits.

If motor is in a sorry state I would swap for another 2F and do frame off restoration. I have same 2F/4 speed setup in finalpig. I believe the clearcoat Terrain Tamer V runs a 2F.

At the moment plan is getting it running and driving, replace front floor pans, new front seats and seatbelts. I know it is not a legal requirement but this car has never had them.

Anyone have detailed photos of what the sidestep bit between the doors and front wheel arch looks like? This cars ones have rusted away and deleted when it was repainted several years ago. It must of been a common site for water to pool and tinworm to start.
