I just ordered an australian airbox (due to my snorkel) and I was curious if its a direct bolt up or will I need to do some fabbing. Does anyone have any experience?

Thanks in advance! Landcruiserjunky

I cant say for sure but when I looked into it, it was a direct hookup. It just vents toward the passenger side instead of the driver side. It might need a litte extra hose but I dont think so. I ended up using a 62 air box and a weber carb so mine is different. If you look at SOR you might be able to see a drawing of a non usa airbox install

if you got an hj60 or a bj60 it will be direct bolt in and hooks right up to a safari snorkel however it does fit on the passenger side you will need a hose to come across the valve cover to the cleaner.

all other diesel air cleaners you will have to fab to fit them.

what carb are you running?

i used a bj42 air cleaner. had to fab a bracket and fab inlet and outlet tubes and it is smaller overall, however it shares the same filter as all the other diesels and the 1fzfe motors on the 80 series.

we are doing a tbi fuel inkection swap on an 84 so i will look at the stock carb tomorrow and get an idea of what it will take to go from the carb to the new aircleaner.

you have any idea what model aircleaner they are sendin you?

i have a 38mm weber and weber makes a plenum that a hoseattaches to and can cross over to my air cleaner.

a little easier.

It's the same aircleaner the canadian 60's have. At least the diesels do anyhow. But I don't have the little extra bowl on the bottom.

What are you using on the carb side?
