Im sure we have a few Aussies in our ranks..... There are a few things that i would like to source and purchase such as rubber floor mats (not the vinyl, but like weather techs). Very hard to get an idea of quality or even whats out there. ive even set my computer to think that its in Aussie land so i would get all the .au domains....


I guess what im saying is I need an aussie friend to help me find stuff (and maybe help ship it :p ) I dont expect these to be large items.

Are there any 70 series Aussie folks among us?
 
I checked into it, as I have a friend who moved back to AU. UPS wants hundreds of dollars to ship from AU to the USA, so you will want to put together care packages with lots of bit and pieces inside. I looked into a hood liner for the 75 and found one in AU, emailed them, they had a good price, but the shipping was more than the part. I need to assemble a list...
 
I've shipped quite a bit of stuff from AUS that I purchased of eBay Australia. They always ship my packages DHL and the prices are always way more reasonable than I expected. The largest items I've shipped are side sliding windows for a troopy (the entire frame and everything) and the heaviest were probably a set of shocks and steering stabilizer. Plus the USD is strong to the AUD, so the sellers always apologize for the crazy shipping costs, but when you calculate it out to USD it really isn't too bad.
 
I'm up for it Andrew. I can store your product and send off as required. Not great on tech, but I read good.;)
Transport will be your biggest problem. Like RhinoRig said it would be best to bundle some products.

I held and shipped some parts for a member last year and DHL quoted $350. OZ post was more then 1/2 the price. :)

You sir are the man. First things first, its easier if i can send monies via paypal, do you have an account?

Pretty much im looking for some 75/78/79 front mud floor mats to start. The shape of the wheel wells on the inside did not change from what i have gathered, so they should fit (RHD needed). I dont know if dealers have them, but the tranny tunnel did change a bit with the v8 diesel.

Unicorn: Floor mats with land cruiser on them
Will take: any decent rubber floor mats that fit a 75/78/79

I have not been able to find any.....

Im sure there are tons of other things

Most likely what you are looking for will come from what my people call “Gumtree” or ebay although we do get facebook here too.:hillbilly:
I have some 4x4 subscriptions here so I will PM you some info and yes I have paypal.

What I reckon we should do is see if some other members (cough... @ozcrusier @Locked79 ) could keep an ear out as well that way a lot of the East Coast is covered as I am only 40 mins from Bris airport. Bear in mind it can cost heaps to freight across Australia.

If you post what you want here and myself and others from Australia could post what they find.
You pick what you like then you and I can organise the logistics.
I shall start looking for floor mats.
 
I got these for about $60. For a newer 79 though. How different is the trans tunnel?
