I wish I lived in Aussie land you guys have millions of landcruisers, up here in Canada you are lucky if you see one in a day. Your FJ45's are sweet. I do own a 1984 BJ42 the last 40 series they made. Put a cool aussie picture up, maybe the sun dying down behind it.

me again.. don't count me twice. I was just looking at some of the beaut rigs and noticed a couple of things..

Khany.. like the front bar on yours. Still trying to find a decent one for mine that's cost under $2k...

And I just noticed on bj42turbo's truck a very special little piece on the bonnet and can't believe no one has commented on it yet. That wouldn't be the signature of a certain now sadly deceased V8 race car driver would it now? :D

We've been tosing up the idea of making up a half a dozen or so of the bar that I'm about to get built for my FJ40....I'm still finishing off the design in soldiworks.......but they'll be atleast half of the price you mention above. Heres roughly what it'll look like.

interested in front bar.

Twisty , I would definetely be interested in the front bar you've drawn up. I'm up in north QLD and there is f**k all up here to choose from. That design look good.
Cheers Shorty.

Sports Bars

G'day Twisty,

I love the look of the low bars but for me it doesn't do the job. I'm up around Gisborne a lot and the roos are a pain. I've heard getting one of those "roo whistles" fitted to the front bumper should protect from a roo strike and then I could have my sporty forty look.. but I wouldn't feel confident without a decent bar setup bolted to the front. There's a mob in Toowomba, Tuff Bullbars, who at the moment I'm leaning towards. http://www.tuffbullbars.com/toyota4wd1.jpg
In my mind whilst I like a feral ute as much as the next bloke, I'd love something a little less obvious than this.. but as I said.. there's my peace of mind.
I liked Khany's because it didn't look over the top... well, not too much anyway :D
But $1990 plus freight to Melb.. do you know how many romantic gestures that's going to cost me??
If anyone knows of any other mobs.. let me know, please.
Cheers

G'day all, from Brissie. I'm having fun tooling with my old 1977 FJ40. Good to see a contingency from DownUnder - especially since the ol' FJ is a bit of an Aussie Icon.
