Okok. It was a pretty great trip, an excellent chance to get out and see some beutiful country and catch up with old and new friends alike.

After an awesome lunch, a few delays from some crazy traffic and epic downpours we were underway again. We all hit the trailhead safe and cruised along to the first campsite past the river crossings; then Brian spices it up a little with the impromptu recovery lessons. Well done :)

Next morning we broke camp and hit max patch for a pre lunch hike. Limited visibility but still beautiful.

We left max patch and swung by wolf creek falls for lunch. This was not the experience we had wished for and it still to this day amazes me the poor decisions people make when provided the opportunity. It clearly was not the best time for target practice period, but esp when i was at my truck in front of his firing position, and around a bunch of kids. Adults too but seriously?!? No pics here and trying to forget that portion.

However as a group displaying the opposite end of the spectrum of we did offer help to a third party that managed to sheer a drainplug off a "trailblazer" that came down behind us. His trailblazing was done once he dumped all the oil out but luckily had a second vehicle and help on the way.

group dissected in del rio but cool spot to sit and watch the train go by. Behind it is the old post office and andrew johnson? home i believe

Luckily not too long, and half of us had a 80 sighting. The other half said they saw some interesting stuff as well :)

Not the stock green one we saw while waiting but another goldy lie straight ahead when we hit a main road. I was so distracted i didnt notice ricky red burning down a set of tires in the back of the line. I bout pooped. Thought rymers rig had given up in a big way. We would see one other 80 on sunday at the swimming hole.

The tracks crossing onto weavers bend. It really was worth a walk up there but not sure anyone did

And with the peninsula full we would end up camping just downstream of that same bridge. The view from the dinner/swim spot was great The train blairing in the middle if the night was actually quite nice..... For those that were not out snoring it ;)

Hate i didnt get any more pics from here out. Sunday was a beautiful day and drive as well. Even after lunch and a swim when it started to rain. . Lots of easy gravel roads and beautiful tarmac tucked in the mountain farms. We crossed the state line a dozen times and ended up almost back to french broad before ducking up the paint creek canyon. More beautiful scenery here and leads out to some developed and less developed camp options. We didnt see anyone past paint creek to rich mountain except the two pulling horse trailers..... In the rain....on a steep and winding road.....without a pulloff. Whew not sure about you other guys but that made me pinch up seeing his tires on that edge. My radio was dead at this point so sorry i couldn't communicate, but i totally was gonna go chat with him first or get out and see my reverse options when he waived me over and started ahead. Ballsy

Even in the rain it was a nice ride. We came out east of hot springs on 25/70 and parted ways. Ramon/emma and the Keefers headed back 209 to the trailer at 40 and greg and i jumped on 25/70 to 26 and down to ashville where we parted.

Too much fun watching the double takes when people get passed by a UN ambulance :D

I did wonder if that was going to migrate over here

I thought the next step was he would pull the shotgun out if we didn't start moving soon...
