First time doing the inner axle seal myself so first a BIG thanks to everyone for all the write ups. When I got into the knuckle itself I found it is pitted pretty badly on both sides. Should I sand this smooth or leave it? I figure if I sand it smooth, the wiper and felt might work better but it'll be out of round. If I leave it, it stays round but there's the pitted area where grease can deposit and work its way out. It's pretty pitted on both sides. What think you?

Also, the boot on the tie rod/steering arm is popped. Should I worry about this? If I should replace it, where should I get the part from? Napa/Kragen etc don't have the boot.

Use a drill-mounted or such wire-wheel on the pitted surface, it'll clean it up a little bit, paint it if you want, then don't worry about it.

As far as the boots go, I know SOR carries them, but I've only replaced the whole TRE.

If your using Marlin's seals i wouldn't worry about the bells. Marlin's seals are much better design then stock and the chance of gear oil getting past them is slim. I would just slap your new wiper and felts on and call it done.

Napa, kragen, a piece of heater hose will also work very well. whatever floats your boat will work.
