I was wondering if anyone has attached their fog lights to their stock bumper? I've been looking to purchase a set from Mot and can see how they would attach well to a bull bar but am not very sure how well the fogs will connect to a flat bumper. Two of the featured pics on the IH8MUD home page have a silver 60 with fogs attached to the OEM bumper. The images are named RUSS IN CALIFORNIA.
Hey Russ, are you out there?
Any info will help. Mot is a great guy and I don't want to buy his fogs without knowing for sure if they will fit.
Thanks:cheers:

i popped out the one of the cets of bumper bolts, and used the holes.
the others i drilled.

I just mounted a set of Hella 500's to my stock front bumper on my 87 fj60. The only problem was drilling out the already existing holes for the larger diameter fog light studs.....no sweat if you have the proper size drill bit.

Where you drilled out the bumper are you having rust issues? I was hoping to use some of the small holes that are already there from the factory. I assume the diameter of the holes are too small if you used the hole from the bumper bolt and drilled. I'll have to ask Mot for the diameter of the threaded rod at the base.
What brand of fog light are those? Did they come with a flat base for mounting or did you have to make the bases?
Thanks for the reply!

Any rust where you drilled out?

no rust where i drilled , at least not yet.
I bought the chrome lights on e-bay and replaced the sealed beams with
yellow sealed beams i got from an electric supply.
i used a GE 4412A lamp.

Great idea Hammer, what kinda (vehicle) housing in the chrome?

hammer is that a rear bumper on the front of your 60? my rear bumper has that "dent" in the middle.

I just drilled 2 holes right into the bumper. I just marked where i wanted em, and drilled em up. No visible rust as of yet. Just make sure to start with a smaller drill bit and work your way up. Heres how it turned out. The only thing that sucks is they get out of wack when i lean over the grill to work on the motor. Bright as s*** though, 6x9 100 watt procomps (cheap too).

No rust on my front bumper.....on my 87 fj60 there were existing holes but they were too small.......I just reamed until I got the stud from the fog light mount to slide through. The mounting wasn't really that bad, the wiring however was a b*tch!!
