The 100 is covered with brush "pinstripes". I ruled out having it buffed - figuring A. The truck will see the trails again and B. The paint can only be buffed but so many times.
Today, I decided to put a BandAid on it - just some elbow grease, e.g. rubbing compound, polishing compound and wax. And wow, did I make a mess. I did only one fender - a nice even effort with the rubbing compound, followed by several even applications of polishing compound (attempting to remove the haze) and then a two coats of wax. The fender looks like crap. Feels great. But, looks like crap.
So now, I'm back to having it buffed. Kinda blew it and don't have much of a choice - the fender looks like it was swapped on from another truck.
Any of you Atlanta (area) guys have a recommendation for a good detailer? I'd rather find a guy to do it on the side - and put the money in his pocket. But, I'd go with a shop too.
Thanks.
