The 100 is covered with brush "pinstripes". I ruled out having it buffed - figuring A. The truck will see the trails again and B. The paint can only be buffed but so many times.

Today, I decided to put a BandAid on it - just some elbow grease, e.g. rubbing compound, polishing compound and wax. And wow, did I make a mess. I did only one fender - a nice even effort with the rubbing compound, followed by several even applications of polishing compound (attempting to remove the haze) and then a two coats of wax. The fender looks like crap. Feels great. But, looks like crap.

So now, I'm back to having it buffed. Kinda blew it and don't have much of a choice - the fender looks like it was swapped on from another truck.

Any of you Atlanta (area) guys have a recommendation for a good detailer? I'd rather find a guy to do it on the side - and put the money in his pocket. But, I'd go with a shop too.

Thanks.

I don't know how good their work is anymore but Cactus Carwash used to do a pretty good job detailing. Now it's something like Mr. Hotshine or something, I've had nothing but bad experiences going there since they were bought out. It might be worth a shot but I've never had my truck detailed, I just know they do it.

It may sound crazy, but the guy that does it for Hennessey Lexus in chamblee is good. I'm not sure how much for just the exterior, but interior and exterior is under $200. This includes hi speed buff, wax, carpet shampoo, and interior detail.

Go over to autogeek.com and post a request for an Atlanta area detailer, someone will chime in.

I have used these guys several times. We have a E55 AMG that sat under a tree for a few days and the sap ate through the clear coat and looked terrible (it's black). Mikael's guys were able to buff and wax the paint and somehow made the car look brand new. I had the 100 buffed and waxed there a few years ago and they got 70% of the scratches out. Prices are not bad, and the service is awesome. They even have a 100 Series going through their carwash on the website.
