working . . . . .

Here's a good choice. The Mellow Mushroom, in the center of downtown, where all the hip hang. Great pizza and Calzone, local brews, music, etc. It is also owned by a cruiserhead on mud. ("Mellow") Ate there last night, got the steak and cheese calzone and it was great!

x2.

Also, you can't go wrong with Barley's.

In Black Mountain, Perry's BBQ and the Black Mountain Bistro are good and almost right across the street from each other. Thought of Marshall the first time I ate at Perry's. They kind of do their BBQ like him where there are 7-8 different sauces in a squeeze bottles to use, depending on your desired flavor preference.

Could be, but from corresponding with him, I think he has an interest in others. He's planning on coming up his winter, stopping at the Asheville 'shrum, and wants to wheel with UC. (I just bought a Scion radio from him for my 62, so my knowledge has been gathered from the website linked to his screen name, so I may be jumping to conclusions.)

Other good eateries in Asheville abound, and if you have some extra dough (Andy?), you would want to hit the Corner Kitchen in Biltmore village, which is relaxed gourmet that specializes in wild game. We have our local Quail association dinners there, and its the best way I know to spend a Benjiman.

The Lobster Trap, downtown. Great food, great beer, great service.
My wife and I make the hour trip up and eat as often as we can.

There is a little Mexican place off exit 33, I26 in the Kmart plaza called Poppas and Beer. Very good food...and lots of it. Great place after a mountain bike ride in Bent Creek or Dupont.
