The first quarter offense is their recipe for success. Use the quick pass to set up the run and long pass. The later two aren't effective when the defense is expecting them.

The DL has grown up in the big way the last two weeks. I don't think this win happens without the pressure from the guys up front. The marauding DBs were free to impose their will today.

I agree, this defense is fun to watch. Multiple sacks on the QB and get several tackles for a loss without a blitz. AND shutting down the rush, Golden Tate, and Megatron....3rd and whatever, they just seem to get it done.

My .02, Stanton doesn't need to be a franchise QB to make it happen...

If the OL could hand Ellington a game like Jamaal Charles had yesterday it wouldn't hurt.;)

And stay out of the limelight doing it, which IMHO is a good thing. Most national news outlets are busy covering 7-3 teams.

Agree entirely, every week we're hearing players bitching about playing time, touches or throwing team mates under the bus. None of it from the Cards, they've bought in that the team is more important than one person. It should be a no brainer but it's not. It's refreshing to see a team playing together without a bunch of divas.

BA stated in his interview today, "There are 2 wide outs, but only one football, someone gets pissed"..
Said with a sense of humor, but they get it also.

Yes! That is a big part of the Cardinals " secret sauce". Love the way the 49er (Bowman?) Refused to play in the second half because he was pouting about sharing his position with their new rookie......the niner implosion keeps slowly building.

You do not see tat in AZ. All about winning versus one person

I'm hoping the Cardinals can take a page out of the Patriots play book this week. Scheme up some heavy duty running plays with some extra linemen or multi-back sets. That will take pressure off of Stanton and position the team for more success in the playoffs. The Chiefs were able to run all over Seattle and I don't think they'd be expecting a heavy dose of runs from the Cards.
It's going to be far different than the friendly confines of UOP stadium - 40*'s and raining is the projection . . . oh yeah and the stupid 12th man thing.

I'm curious if the Cards will go after Blount. He's the type of back they need if the leadership on this team can keep him from being a PITA.

If there was one thing I think the cards are missing is that huge punishing running back to compliment and take some pressure off our scat back Ellington.
Also, Stanton could use a good running attack to open the passing game esp. With these tough games coming up.
But he has bounced around to 4 teams in five years and from what it appears he may have too much baggage for Arians liking. Our greatest avantage is the culture he has created and would have to be careful with someone like this.
Wow, 6 foot 250 lbs. And averaged 4.7 yards per carry in his nfl carrer. 27 years old....

Very intriging thought broRob , I'm sure he has a Steelers insider to get a feel for the guy...

Running backs:
Ben Tate was released from the Browns earlier in the week as well. :hmm:

Marion Grice sat on the bench, my hope for him is waning, possibly due to not being able to fully grasp the playbook?

Lastly, how obout uor fullback Robert Hughes 49 yard catch and run? Loves where he drives the defender into the turf and keeps going. Video below

High risk, high reward. If anyone can snuff out BS and ego problems it's BA. Blount would be like Beanie Wells without the vagina. A guy like that could really open up this offense.

I'd like to see Hughes get some carries, he clearly knows what to do with the ball. The demise of the FB as a ball carrier is sad, nothing changes a game like a snorting bull with the ball pancaking defenders.

sounds like Fitzgerald might not be able to be in this game. At least we have good depth at reciever....

Good news Shaugnessy has returned to practice after returning from the temporary injured reserve and can start playing again in 2-3 weeks. We could use him back at Linebacker - he is a strong run stopper and can use him to rotate in with fresh legs

Hawks will be without their Pro Bowl Center Max Unger...

This should spice things up..:hmm:

Lynch is hurting and acting like a spoiled brat. Considering the Cards like to blitz up the middle, he could be in for another tough outing. The middle of their defense is banged up, so the cards may get more than 12 yards rushing.

Motivation favors the Sqwacks though, it'll be tough to pull out a win. I don't see either team doing much on offense, mistakes and special teams with decide this one.

Word is, the cards put a claim in on Tate but lost out to the Vikes. Blount is the bigger talent IMO, either the Pats beat them to the punch or he was to risky.

Go Pack Go!

Now what you want to do here is, go to the Cheese State Cruisers web page. Then go to the thread titled "R-E-L-A-X" , and type in the secret code phrase "Discout Double Check". The procede to wax poetic about the greatness of Aaron Rodgers.

Seriously, the Packers are playing some great ball right now. Despite the Acme Packers throw back billards ball jerseys. They stay on this trajectory and they might find themselve in AZ at some point.

Now back to our regulary scheduled program.
