Are you near Austin? Have you installed the Slee AHC override? Do you like beer?

Okay, about to get tires for my stock 07 LX. I wanna go as big as I can so I had planned on installing the Slee AHC Override switch, and just run it in high. I looked at the instructions and I have to admit I'm a little intimidated. I've turned wrenches but don't really have any experience with the electrical stuff. If anyone has done this in central Texas I'd be willing to make it worth your while to walk me through it.

(please keep it PG13)

I would just do a sensor lift then you have full range. I did it on our 04 and works great. Then full range of suspension.

Twist of 3 bolts then a 30mm trim packer in rear.

Where do I purchase a "sensor lift"? And what is a "30mm trim packer"? Is that a spring spacer of some sort? Sorry for the newb questions...

Can't be of much mechanical help (am willing, but not experienced in this realm...) but how large do you want tires to be? I just put 275/70/18's on my stock LX and have no issues. Reasonable deal at Costco.

Here's the pic I posted in the 'What did you do to your Hundy this week' thread. You're welcome to look in person too...

These threads should explain an AHC Sensor lift:

Exactly, see the bottom of this page:

Great info! I'm looking at doing this on my 03 LX but I'm seeing conflicting info about the need for a diff drop when doing the sensor lift.

Do I need one or not?

A sensor lift (of the same height) would really be no different than any other suspension lift on a 100 series (other than having to deal with pressures in the AHC system). There are conflicting opinions as to whether a diff drop is needed, ranging from "mandatory" to "a waste of money". I believe the general consensus is "Not absolutely required, but probably not a bad thing to have":

Diff drop...Slee or BIOR?

what side of Austin are you on?

I'm more than willing to help when I get back from Kuwait next month. I do love beer and meeting other Mudders. I'm located in Killeen. While I haven't installed that particular kit, I was an ASE mechanic at Toyota before the Army.
