"Are you buying another cruiser!"...says the girlfriend. "Haha, maybe"...I say!

Hello guys, I've been lurking around the 40 series and diesel tech sections of mud for a quite a while now. I've always loved 40's and right now i've got my heart set on a BJ42.

I've had an 80 in the garage for the last 4 years and currently i own a 1997 turbo-diesel 80 series and it's superb....my dream rig! Previously i had a 92 FZJ80 which i lifted and locked etc...

Since selling the faithful petrol 80, the bit of cash i have left over has been burning a hole in my pocket. I figured i want to get an old cruiser now while i can just to tinker with and eventually do a frame-up resto on it.

It's gotta be a diesel and after wading through the bucket-loads of info in the diesel tech section, i'm convinced a trusty old 3B is for me. I vaguely recall my Dad's old Dyna milk-truck had one in it and that thing ran like clockwork allday everyday.

Anyhow, i'm eyeing-off an 82 BJ42 at the moment. It's got the 4-speed with a "Fairey overdrive" box bolted up. Theres a Ramsey winch on the front and some ugly bullbar with odd spotlights. Apparently it was an old guys fishing truck. Theres rust in the usual spots, but on a whole it is in original condition. The dash hasn't been butchered and the 3B appears to be maintained ok.

Pending a more detailed inspection i'm going to make an offer and pick it up in a weeks time. The 1200km journey home should be fun!

I'll post up pics soon if all goes well.
