so i've abused my fenders pretty badly...can't seem to resist blazing new trails...anyway, i've pulled them forward, but they are still knocked back pretty badly with several acute dents. anyone with body work and fj40 fender experience think they are salvagable? thanks for any help!

Depends.....

1. How perfect you want your cruiser.

2. How good you are with a hammer/dolly set.

3. How much time you are willing to spend making it right.

If you can't resist blazing new trails. I say just take them off and get some kind of tube fender or just not worry about it. If the appearance of the fenders bother you, blazing trails will either have to be done a little more cautiously or not at all ;-)

Take care,

but who's going to clear the trees for my trail buddy's samurai??? :D

actually, i am thinking long-term here for a restoration, so i would like to get them close to perfect. if it would be easier to just buy the replacement parts from ccot, i may just do that.

thanks for the input!

beware of fitment! though I hear the ccot fenders are better than they were.. i just got a 'new' set of SOR fenders from 5 years ago that no one installed... I got a great deal but they are thinner than factory (i'm going to put bedliner underneath) and just from quickly bolting up the aprons I can see that I am going to have to have someone help me get everything lined up.. slotting holes and lots of pulling to get it all to look right.

Sure it is fixable

Geez. Yours look better than mine and I just sanded them down and sprayed paint. It's a trail truck.

OK, kidding, mine are wrinkled, but not that creased. PO had set the truck on it's side at least once. I did work them a bit with hammer and dolly, but they are not perfect. Buy new if that's what you want.
