I'm seriously considering changing shocks AGAIN from Bilsteins to Radflo. Since new I have never been happy with the 200's ride quality. The ride is rough and jittery. Comparing it to my beloved 100 that's like driving a really well broken in pair of shoes.

Looking for the absolute best on road damping.

If anyone local had radflos can we meet up and go for a ride?

If you want the absolute best, the Ohlins TTX can't be beat.

What do those bad boys cost? Are you putting them on the wife's truck? Radflos seems to be about $2500.

My biggest criticism is the harsh ride and suspension that continues to vibrate after hitting a bump or uneven pavement. The 100 never did that. The 100 just feels so much more solid even though it's 15 years old. I've been on a two year mission the figure it out and fix it but no luck. This is why I want to take a ride in someone else's. If it's just a characteristic of the 200 then I'll deal with it.
That said I can't wait until the 200 becomes mine in a month when the wife's new truck comes in. That's why I have the brake system on order from you. Trying to get everything perfect.

I have the stock suspension still, and my opinion would be the exact opposite of yours, my 200 feels so much more solid and handles the bumps way better than my 100!!! just my experience thus far... I would love to know how it rides with the Radflows on it!!!

You're not getting a pickup truck like vibration from the rear? Mine was even hitting bump stops when loaded with 2 adults in the middle and 2 kids in the rear. LCs are so rare on the east coast it's not like I have friends or neighbors with one so I can't simply compare. The Bilsteins definitely helped this and tightened things up but also made the ride harsher. It's a typical characteristic of Bilsteins but not on the 100. I even changed tires to michelin ltx ms2s since theses are what I have on the 100.

My 100 is tight. I've redone all the bushings and shocks are pretty new so it's like a new 100. The 200 was so disappointing in stock form that I wanted to get rid of it after 12 months but taking that depreciation hit wasn't realistic. I figured I could fix it and the Bilsteins are great but I just don't know if the something else could be better.

Again, I'd take the new 200 over the 99 100 any day of the week but these "vibrations" drive me nuts. I've got about 6 weeks before the new truck arrives and the 200 becomes mine and the 100 goes to a family member.

My wife thinks I'm crazy but I take lots of pride in fixing problems. She thinks I'm looking for problems to fix.

I got no bounce in the rear that i have noticed, had a bit of bump steer/wheel hop in the front at speed offroad(40+mph) I"m hoping the radflows can help with that when i get them on the front end:)

In my opinion, something is not right there. My 200 handles worlds better than my 100 did when it was stock. The only place the 100 really handled / drove better is high speed washboard surfaces and that was only after the Slee suspension.

Hitting the bumps stops sounds like a combination of springs and shocks ... Wonder if your springs are on the light side of the specs.

Having owned quite a few 3/4 and ton pickups, I can unequivocally state that my '13 has almost zero truck-like ride and handling characteristics

If we're comparing to a LS, that'd be another matter.

In short, I love both my old 100 and my 200, but the 200 rides much better ....

I too have noticed the 200 is not great on washboard roads... what's the best fix for that???

Does anyone get a secondary vibration after hitting a bump. I'll call this a reverberation through the chassis. Tires are at 34lb, spare is tights, rear seats vibrate a little but that's not what it is. The Bilsteins fixed the rear axle hop. I'm thinking its in the front end as described above by someone else.
45,000 miles. Feels like I'm chasing my shadow.
Vibration was present when we test drive the LX 570 a couple months ago.

Nope...just one solid jarring thump when unloaded...loaded, springs do their magic!

Depends on the size of the bump, but on the typical roads around SW CT, it happens very infrequently. There is a dirt road I drive on often that has washboard and potholes and at speeds of 20 MPH+, I do get wheel hop on turns or if I hit a large hole. There is a feeling that the tires of momentarily lose contact with the road, and a corrosponding shake of the body....I had the same, albeit worse, experience with my 2008 4-Runner. Overall it's not a big deal, but I do think Toyota should be able to figure this out.

^^^ yep, this is what I got.... now I just gotta figure out how to get rid of it!

So I'm not insane. Let's put our collective heads together and figure this out.

I was under the impression you were experiencing a "pickup like" hop from the rear while on the street from your initial post!?!? I do not have anything like that, but if your talking about the wheel hop/bounce issue while offroad(mostly on washboard at speed) then I know exactly what your talking about, but my issues with the wheel hop is coming from the front end and only offroad at speed, if that's what ya got going on then yeah I'm right there with ya, let's figure out how to solve this!!!!!!

Better suspension tuning is the start. However, we also need to look at bracing the frame in strategic places. While not a popular thread here https://forum.ih8mud.com/200-series-cruisers/750874-reducing-body-roll.html it holds part of the solution, too. My 09 exhibits a behavior similar to that described above. I began researching this problem back in 08 as the Tundra does it much worse.

Thanks board member Chris L$@?# for taking time out his weekend and letting me drive his 200 with Radflos. We compared my truck with Bilsteins to his with the Radflos. Very different rides. I think each has its own qualities depending what you're looking for.

Let's just say that my Bilsteins are for sale because his ride better suits what my family needs out of the truck. If you're looking for a sportier, firmer ride then contact me for a smoking deal.
