Are the CV boots considered part of the drive axle?

The CV axle as a whole is warrantied if you purchase it new and installed.

True... But the boot is also a wear item.... And I dont know how many miles/years you could go and still call that an issue to be covered by warranty. With that said, I honestly dont know the right answer or have any first hand experience. Try contacting Beno (one of our members and parts guru) and ask him how it is viewed. As an FYI, to reboot a CV can be a really inexpensive DIY project if your warranty doesnt cover it. It is around $30 for the parts through Beno (vs. the $72 my local delear tried to charge me) and then some of your time. A great thread in the FAQ on how to do it should you try and take that on yourself.

I think it's really at the discretion of the dealership/service consultant that you're working with. I've known of people to have cv's rebooted under warranty after 50k miles.

My warranty reads: All internally lubricated parts contained within the front or rear drive axle housings. Does this include the CV boots?

Makes it sound like the boots are the container and not the contained.

Sounds like the warranty company has done this before....

Where does the ocean meet the sea?

I have a third party warranty (which is about to run out) on our 2003 Land Cruiser that we bought in 2009. We opted for the uranium level warranty (read our truck has navigation/multi-function display), and the CV boots are covered. A few weeks ago I noticed a boot slinging grease so I went to a local independent Toyota ASE. There was a deductible involved, so I decided I would replace the boot myself, save some money and learn something new. I learned something new. YMMV.

So from reading your warranty statement above, if the CV were to somehow sling all the grease go dry then you would be covered......?

2005 w/ 107000 miles. I bought a premium warranty which covers the rig through 130000. My local dealer reads it as though it would be covered. Just trying to get a few other opinions from experienced posters. I will respectfully file the smarta$% remarks from the peanut gallery!
